Ear Wax Removal

Ear wax removal is an essential part of your overall well-being. Not only does it reduce the risk of infections, but it also ensures that your hearing remains at its best.

Additionally, during the ear wax removal process, we can assess your ears for any other potential concerns that may require further attention.

About Earwax

Earwax, or cerumen, is a natural secretion found within the ear. It exists to safeguard the skin of the ear canal and assist in cleaning and lubrication. It also offers protection against various external factors, including bacteria, fungi and water.

The ear canal has a built-in self-cleaning mechanism. The skin lining naturally moves from the centre of the eardrum to the outer ear, taking the wax and any debris with it.

Things like age, diet, lifestyle and genetics can influence the quantity of wax produced and retained.

When earwax becomes compacted in the ear canal, it can result in discomfort or hearing difficulties. This issue can be made worse by the use of cotton buds, in-ear headphones, and earplugs.

Additionally, dry skin or narrow or distorted ear canals can contribute to wax impaction.
